Plans are underway to convert Des Plaines’ 158-year-old Historic Methodist Campground into a bustling destination for sustainable learning and interfaith activities over the next decade.

As of this year, changes at the campground include the addition of new board members to promote diversity, restructuring of the board, as well as the camp’s regulations, renovations of the on-site cottages, renovation of the pool and research into flood remediation projects, said Cynthia Morgan of Shift2Green, one of the project organizers.​
